Day 99: Learning a New Habit

Happy New Years everyone. I am thankful for new beginnings and starting a new chapter. It’s like getting a blank page to begin another story.

This morning I was playing around with a habit app called ‘Fabulous” to work on  some new habits. You know the usual, ‘wake up early’, ‘go for a run every day’, and ‘eat right’. Shortly after, the Holy Spirit tugged me, reminding me to add something very important – Him.

This morning’s devotion was from Jesus Calling and opened up with this sentence, “IF YOU WANT TO LEARN A NEW HABIT, try saying, “I trust You, Jesus,” in response to whatever happens to you.”

You should have seen my eyes 👀 The Holy Spirit was reminding me to keep God first and to make it a habit to trust Him in the midst of everything -even making a list. It was only moments ago that I was literally adding new habits to my routine

Now let me just say that making lists and creating habits is not wrong, just remember to keep God first and He can help you, not only accomplish those, but also guide you in the right direction -closer to Him

God is powerful and is everywhere. He promises to guide those who continue to seek Him. Psalm 138:7-10 NIV says, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”

Why not join me this year in starting a new habit and learn to say, “I trust You, Jesus!” Thanks God for reminding me of what’s important.
