Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth… I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:19
God has shown me this past year He uses events to shape us, to teach us, to grow us (ie. friendships, trainings, accomplishments or failures) — and some of these key events are those sparked by sin (our own or someone sinning against us), by our missteps, by our confusion. Wow–and memories of the past, can so easily feel like shackles holding us to failures, regrets, ignorance, foolishness, and sin.
Thank God He doesn’t want us bound to our past. I’m thankful for His mercies and grace.
When God saves us from the death we deserve for our sin, He frees us from the guilt and shame of our former life as well. He gives us a new beginning. He frees us to receive every good thing He wants to give us. We just seem to forget that and need that constant reminder. Sometime we just need to say it aloud to break those chains!!
If you feel like your past is in a wilderness, please know that God wants to make a clear path through it and help you get through the difficult times. I hope you will embrace the new beginning that God has for you.
On this beautiful New Year’s Day, embrace the Lord’s fresh mercies for your life! Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Join me in welcoming 2015!
Happy New Year from Faithful Trainer!
